Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has run into trouble again on his Twitter account. Musk is no stranger to backlash with some of his ‘out-there’ Tweets and some controversial views, but things have gone to a new level with Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and ambassador to Germany, Andrij Melnyk, giving him a piece of their mind.
Musk posted to his 107.7 million Twitter followers on Monday evening about the current war between Russia and Ukraine. Musk explains that in order to achieve peace between the two countries, they should redo elections “under UN supervision”.
In the now-deleted post, Elon wrote:
Ukraine-Russia Peace:
– Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.
– Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
– Water supply to Crimea assured.
– Ukraine remains neutral.

After quickly receiving a lot of backlash for this, Musk went on to Tweet a poll, referring to the areas of Ukraine that have been illegally annexed by Russia.
Let’s try this then: the will of the people who live in the Donbas & Crimea should decide whether they’re part of Russia or Ukraine

However, this is not the end of Musk’s input on the difficult subject, he went on to say:
“Russia is doing partial mobilization. They go to full war mobilization if Crimeo is at risk. Death of both sides will be devastating.
“Russia has >3 times population of Ukraine, so victory for Ukraine is unlikely in total war. If you care about the people of Ukraine, seek peace.”

Responding to Musk’s posts, Ukraine President Zelenskyy, posted a poll asking his followers “which Elon Musk do you like more?

Ukraine’s president was not the only one to chime in with Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany, Andrij Melnyk, taking a much more direct approach, saying:
“F*** off is my very diplomatic reply to you @elonmusk”
Fuck off is my very diplomatic reply to you @elonmusk

Melnyk went on to say:
The only outcome ist that now no Ukrainian will EVER buy your f…ing tesla crap. So good luck to you .@elonmusk
