We’ve seen several videos of modified diesel pickup trucks coal-rolling various Tesla automobiles. This video, on the other hand, takes it to a whole new level. Wham Baam Teslacam has compiled a compilation of 22 pickup trucks coal-rolling on Tesla.
For a long time, coal rolling has been a “fad.” It’s not unusual for diesel pickup truck owners to modify their vehicles so that they can pump out gallons of thick black smoke. It draws people’s attention, and we must assume the drivers enjoy it – otherwise, why would they invest their time and money to make it happen?
It appears that the only reason we’re seeing more of the coal-rolling movement these days is due to platforms like YouTube, as well as social media in general. Tesla’s automobiles all include a built-in dashcam (TeslaCam) and Sentry Mode, which uses camera technology to provide security. This means there’s now a large number of video clips available and that most of the footage seen comes from Tesla owners, which is one reason it appears Teslas are being targeted by coal rollers.
It makes sense for the coal-rolling community to use Tesla’s automobiles to cover in soot, given their highly visible public protest against clean air and environmental protection. Given that Tesla’s vehicles do not create tailpipe emissions, they are clean, quiet, and environmentally friendly, making that public “anti-clean-air” statement even more apparent.
Many coal-rollers are undoubtedly aware that Teslas have cameras, and if they coal-roll a Tesla, the video is almost certainly going to go viral. Furthermore, if they enjoy it that much, you should expect them to think that coal-rolling a Tesla is even more entertaining.
