The Bollinger B2 All-Electric Pickup Is 614HP Off-Road Monster

Bollinger is doing the bright thing for an EV car manufacturer already targetting a niche market. They’re specifically targetting the best-selling segment in the US which is currently, and has been for some time, trucks and SUVs. Now, the company’s first step into the market in the shape of the B1 SUV and B2 pickup is nearing production, and we’ve been treated to a video of the latter in its element.

This angular and intimidating electric truck is rushed through Michigan’s Silver Lake Sand Dunes in the cool 30-second black and white video. With 614hp, it doesn’t break a sweat as it traverses the terrain, and with its black paint job, it looks more intimidating than the Cybertruck while it does it.

The truck looks to be a capable off-road weapon with 668 lb-ft of torque paired to its 614hp. It’s got a dedicated low gear for overlanding, 10 inches of travel at each corner suspension unit, and a whole 15 inches of ground clearance. Its range isn’t quite as impressive as Tesla’s finest at only 200 miles thanks to a 120-kWh battery pack, but it will be able to tow 5,000lbs. Thankfully, a bigger 180-kWh battery will be available later on.

It looks like it will be going into production later this year with deliveries beginning early 2021, but at a price of $125,000, it’s difficult to find a reason to go fo this over the Rivian or aforementioned Cybertruck. Despite this, there are 5 figures worth of customers waiting to get their hands on one. So what do we know?
