The Tesla Cybertruck Won’t Have Any Door Handles, Says Elon Musk

Elon Musk has teased more of the Cybertruck with a recent tweet revealing that the all-electric pickup won’t have any door handles.

A follower of Elon Musk on Twitter tweeted to him, asking for more hints about what’s to come:

“Would be bad ass if @elonmusk had a little bit of time on his hand to maybe tease us with CyberTruck stuff,” the fan asked.

Musk replied with an answer that has us questioning exactly what it means: “There will be no handles,” he answers.

The Cybertruck was initially unveiled with self-presenting door handles, but when the second-gen Roadster was unveiled with a door that opens at the touch of a touch button on the B-pillar, it wound’t be too much of a reach to expect something similar for the pickup.

Tesla is starting to gain the habit of removing and/or upgrading parts of ‘normal cars’ such as the gear lever being replaced by a swappable feature on the centre screen and an automatic system that will decide the best gear depending on where the car is and its surroundings.

There are a number of different options additional to what you’re seeing above. A hidden mechanism like the latest McLarens? A button on the door such as the new Ford Mustang Mach E?

Hopefully we find out soon… I’m getting a bit bored of waiting so long for Tesla’s huge but late announcements.
