Tesla Cybertruck To Come Standard With 82″ Laser Blade Lights
Elon Musk has returned to the Cybertruck with his latest reveal that covers the electric pickup’s lighting. He says that the EV will come with “laser blade lights” that will be 82″ wide.
The truck was released to a polarised audience late last year, but since then has taken the world by storm with already an estimated 500,000 pre-orders since November ’19. It kick-started the electric pickup niche, too, with plenty of manufacturers following suit. None other has done with quite like Tesla, though, with the Cybertruck following retro design ideas with its angular body and paintless shell. The truck starts at a price of $39,900 and boast a range of 500 miles.
It has the following dimensions according to Musk.
Wheelbase | 149.9 in (3,807 mm) |
---|---|
Length | 231.7 in (5,885 mm) |
Width | 79.8 in (2,027 mm) |
Height | 75 in (1,905 mm) |
He later amended this when saying the following:
“By the way, in some prior tweets I’d said production Cybertruck would be ~80” wide (vs ~84” body width at unveil). This is slightly too small. Will be closer to 82”, but come standard with upper laser blade lights.” He also said that these lights will be standard.
These lights alone have caused a stir, as it looked as if one light ran from one side to the other on the original design that was shown to us last year. Since then, new photos have been taken of the pickup that shows the light having brighter portions at each side of the vehicle, making it look much more like a normal car on the road.
The lowest level of Cybertruck should be closer to production later this year, with the two higher variants going into production in 2021. We’re looking forward to learning more about this game-changer.
