Tesla Front License Plate Solutions
As I’m sure you know, the Tesla Model X is supplied without a front registration plate. In some states and countries this is perfectly fine, in others, such as California, you’ll get ticketed for it, as our owner Gary found out.
He received three tickets in four weeks, each for about $25. So what are the options and what can you do to stop this? Watch the following video:
Option 1 – The supplied bracket
This isn’t such an attractive option due to you having to drill holes in your front bumper to attach it. Next!
Option 2 – Bracket Solution
This one is a bit less intrusive on your new Tesla but might not stand the test of time. You can buy it here on eBay, but due to it only having two stars and only two mounting points, it could succumb to the force of the wind when traveling at high speeds. Would you chance it? At only $8, it could be worth a shot.
Option 3 – Sto N Show
This option is similar to he supplied bracket, the only difference being that it bolts in below the car. However, as you can see from the photos, it’s much more likely to be hit in this position. It’s also incredibly expensive at $84.99. If you want to have a look for yourself, you can find it here.
Final Option – The LAW
This is the best, but most expensive option at a price of $125.99. It goes on pretty easily (15 minutes) without the need to drill holes or modify the bodywork in any way. It’s sturdy and looks good. But the decision is entirely up to you. If you want something cheaper, there are other options, just be wary of low build qualities and compromised designs. You can find The LAW here.
