The Land Rover Defender Gets a Colorful Electric Edition from Twisted Automotive
Twisted is a British brand which refinishes Land Rover Defenders. Their latest offering is an American spec Defender 90 called the NAS-E, which will be an awesome range of electrified off-roaders.
The NAS-E will come with a direct drive motor capable of putting out 214 horsepower and 380NM of Torque. If one shells out for the NAS-E Plus, then that’s replaced with a 320 horsepower motor and 460NM of torque.
A 60 kWh battery helps the NAS-E to achieve about 200 miles of range as well. That will do well to help get owners to the California outdoors for which this Defender’s livery has been inspired by.
The three colors, yellow, tealish green, and blue are chosen after the beaches of Malibu, the wilds of Yosemite, and the alpine lakeside of Tahoe.
The NAS-E has a set of silver Twisted Sport rims and bespoke Twisted Performance brakes. Twisted also fitted a Bimini hood and NAS roll cage, in case you somehow get a little wild and flip.
Interiors with these customs are important, and Twisted did a nice job with the NAS-E’s. Of course it gets a full infotainment system, but also a slick three-seat front bench.
There will only be a limited run of 30 of these defenders made, with a price starting at $185,000. However, Twisted will also convert your Land Rover, in a process that takes a couple of weeks.
